BPC-157 is one of the most searched and most misunderstood peptides in the research space.

BPC stands for Body Protection Compound. BPC-157 is a synthetic peptide based on a sequence found in human gastric juice. That origin is part of why early research focused on the digestive system and tissue repair.

A lot of the animal research has produced interesting results. Studies in rodents have looked at how BPC-157 may relate to healing in tendons, ligaments, and the lining of the gut. The mechanism researchers talk about most often is angiogenesis — the forming of new blood vessels — which is part of how tissues repair.

Here is the honest part. Most of this work is preclinical. That means it is lab and animal data, not human trials. Animal findings do not always translate to humans, and the human research is still limited. Anyone who tells you BPC-157 is proven to do X in people is ahead of the evidence.

What you can do is read the studies yourself, notice the model they used, and keep the gap between animal data and human use in mind. That gap is normal in early research, and being honest about it is how you stay clear headed.
